The numbering offered by Microsoft is at the moment scarce and the cost of the calls is not very competitive, but through Direct Routing, there is the possibility of connecting Teams with a complete virtual switchboard that can provide it with extra features.
In order to use Direct Routing with a different Telephone System than Microsoft, you need an intermediate software called Session Border Controller (SBC) that converts Teams calls into traffic compatible with the SIP protocol. Although there is third-party software that does this, Switch4Teams has developed its own SBC to make integration as fast and reliable as possible.
